John Smith: My dad died of diarrhoea, but it didn’t affect me
I have been diagnosed with the disease that left my dad with massive diarrhoeas.
He had diarrhoees, abdominal pain and his heart stopped.
It was a tough time for him.
I have to be honest, I was a bit surprised to see how well he recovered, and that he is doing well.
But, I had an odd thing happen.
I became a father.
I had a child, so that was a big moment.
I didn’t want him to go through that again, so I decided to give him the treatment.
The medication is very powerful.
It works in the body and in the intestines.
It doesn’t affect the liver or kidneys.
I’m not a doctor, but I’ve been doing research and I’ve had good results.
I know that I’m helping a child.
I’m a mum, but you can see that it helps a child in terms of self-esteem and self-reliance.
When I’m at home, I’m going to go and sit down and try to be a good dad.
I like to have fun and play with him, so when I’m not with him I’m just being a mum.
It’s good for him to have that support.
John Smith is an anti-diarrhoea doctor.
He has been working as a doctor since 1992.
He’s also an avid rugby league player.
He said the most important thing is to make sure the child’s well and the mother understands the importance of that.
